Vacation Notes, July 1950
Mrs. Bertha Kelly of Plymouth, Pennsylvania, spent the week of July 16 with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brown and family of 4617 High Street or Ecorse.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gulley of High Street, Ecorse, left Friday for a vacation in Pinconning, Michigan, for a week.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack N. Ellis and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Isherwood of Ecorse, motored to hale, Michigan, where they spent the weekend.
Mrs. Homer Hartley of 4575 High Street, spent four days in Peru, Indiana, visiting with her sister.
Mrs. Betty Stockinger of Fifth Street, Ecorse, vacationed for one month with relatives across the straits in Michigan.
The Social Side, August 1950
A Stork Shower
A stork shower honoring Mrs. Weldon Long was held at the home of Mrs. Long’s mother, Mrs. Oatley, 23 Benson Street, Ecorse, with eighteen guests present.
Card playing furnished the evening’s entertainment with prizes being won by Mrs. Lillian Dunn, Mrs. Kenneth Rariden and Mrs. Martin Bankovich.
Mrs. Long received some beautiful gifts after which refreshments were served.
The Deceivers Meet Again
The Gay Deceivers Pinocle Club held its regular meeting on July 13 at the home of Helen Michaelis, 4416 Sixth Street, Ecorse.
Prizes were won by Eleanor Rogel and Evelyn Sholtes. Other members present at the meeting were Jenny Lundgren, Edna Orgeck, Gertrude Trondle, Connie Carroll and Laura Bartusiak.
Evelyn Sholtes will be hostess at the next meeting which will be held on August 10th.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Johnson of 4437 Ninth Street, Ecorse, celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary on July 25th.
