The Ashtabula plant has a graving dock and similar complete equipment and shops spread Over its 60 acres…The River Rouge-Ecorse yards cover 69 acres…ships were built by Great Lakes Engineering for maritime Commission during the war, when 3,000 were employed here and at Ashtabula…the famous Dodge yacht Delphine was its handiwork…Great Lakes does heavy machine work for the automotive plants, so it isn’t entirely nautical…In a few words, it’s big, and important, diversified, a giant cog in the vast commerce of the lakes.
F.G. Morley, president, has been associated with the company for approximately 40 years. Charles Haskill is vice president and treasurer.
